Oh crudités oh crudités
Cold veggies aren’t for me
I’d rather know you as sauté
Or en flambé or even fried
I’d take a salty crunchy dried
Zucchini stick or podded bean
Whose color is a former green

These carrot planks laid out in platter
Cause my jaws to crunch and clatter
Raw and rigid
Not so toothsome
And I find them quite uncouth
Some other food could fill my plate
From the table at your fête
But for the crudités I hate

But with a dip? Oh give me dip!
Some dip with seafood please
A shallot-chive pâté sardine
A bagna càuda or terrine
Or legume hearty farty bean
Well, tuna mousse is very hip
A savory light and fluffy whip
The creamiest you’ve ever seen
From stinky cheese or honey bees
A dip will coat these veggies fine

But also bread, so never mind
