hear ye and make way
prepare then your fridge door

that don’t look much like fingers

now sports googly eyes
and a triangle beak

what an oddity of flesh!
may be cut from red paper
or, if this turkey’s fresh
might be left off completely
like his snood and caruncle

The hand turkey’s legs –
are they Renaissance Faire fare?
No, two thin sticks protrude
from his brown derriere
So whether he’s 2-D
or papier-mâché
or tissue collage-y

It is hand turkey season

to make this noble creature
